Awards & Recognition

The Management Committee of Cernach Housing Association recognises the importance of external validation of what we do.

We are delighted in the last couple of years to have received the following awards and accreditation:

Investors In People Gold

IIP Gold logo

Following a rigorous assessment that included lengthy interviews with every staff member in the Association, Cernach Housing Association now joins the top 4% of organisations across the UK who have achieved the GOLD standard.

This standard is only given to organisations who can demonstrate excellence in developing and supporting their staff and the Association needed to meet more than 165 evidence requirements standards that included new approaches to Business, leadership and people management.  This is a notable achievement given so few organisations receive the Gold Standard from the Investors in People assessors.  It demonstrates the lengths we go to in investing and supporting all our people.

The Association has been an Investors in People employer for the past 14 years attaining Bronze status in 2012.  Since then a lot of hard work has been carried out to drive the Association forward and considerable steps has been taken to develop and invest in our people, which has resulted in a positive change in the whole culture of the Organisation.

We have developed structures and processes enabling staff to thrive and enjoy the work that they do and in so doing also deliver the high quality service our customers deserve.  By developing our people, we continue to be a leading edge in our field and way ahead of our peers demonstrating new approaches to Business, leadership and people management.

Scottish National Standards

Scottish National Standards
The accreditation standards were developed by the Scottish Government to ensure that advice services throughout Scotland are being delivered to an acceptable and consistent level. Where you see this certificate it means that when customers visit, or contact, the association and make use of advice and information services, they have been independently assessed to ensure they conform to the relevant standards as set by the Scottish Government.

The assessment process was extremely thorough and examined every aspect of the association's activities. The assessor concluded that the advice service provided by the association met the requirements of the Scottish National Standards and demonstrated that it is committed, through partnership working, to promoting the welfare and interests of its service users.

Five staff are trained to the nationally recognised and respected Housing Advice Training Programme, and this award recognises their hard work and achievement to deliver a free, professional, independent and confidential service to our customers.

RICS Award for Community Regeneration

The RICS Awards showcase the most inspirational regional initiatives and developments in land, property, construction and the environment. They are open to everyone working in the property profession and celebrate the talents of surveyors, property developers, engineers, planners and architects.RICS

The awards are not purely based on the building that has been submitted; they are about the project as a whole.
The judges take into consideration the impact it has had on the community, how the end user feels about the scheme and what really makes it stand out from the rest.

Cernach Housing Association are justifiably proud in being selected as the Winner of the Urban Renewal Award for Kingsmore Gardens project in 1998. The Urban Renewal award recognises a project which has checked or reversed urban decay and directly benefited the community.
