Importance of Rent
Cernach Housing Association is a non profit making registered charity. Most of our revenue income comes from rents and any surplus income each year is invested in our repairs and maintenance programme. It is therefore essential that arrears are kept to a minimum.
If you are struggling to pay your rent and are on a low income you may be entitled to housing benefit or universal credit. Contact your Housing Officer for further information on acessing support. For details of who your housing officer is, please see [LINK TO APPROPRIATE HOUSING OFFICER PAGE]
Your monthly rent is due and payable in advance on 1st of every month. It is important you do not fall behind with your rent payments, however, if you do, please contact your Housing Officer immediately to discuss the situation. Even if you are in receipt of housing benefit or universal credit, you are responsible for ensuring your monthly rent is paid.
It is important that you pay your rent as if you fall into arrears you may not be eligible for the following:
- Internal Transfer
- Mutual Exchange
- Transfer outwith the Association
