Paying your rent
Your monthly rent is due in advance on 1st of every month. If you’re having difficulties paying your rent, we are here to help. It’s important you contact your housing officer as soon as you know there’s a problem. They can help with setting up a payment plan and getting a benefits assessment to ensure you are not missing out on any entitlements that you are not currently claiming.

If you have a bank account, you can make payments by Direct Debit or Standing Order. You can call the office to set up a Direct Debit or contact your bank to set up a Standing Order.

At the Post Office or PayPoint
You can make cash payments using your Allpay payment card at any Post Office or shop that has PayPoint. Payment cards are easy to use; you simply hand over the payment and your card. You will be given a receipt which you should keep as proof of payment. If you haven’t already got a card we can order you one or if you lose your payment card please call the office to order a replacement.
Difficulties paying your rent
If you are having difficulties finding the money to pay your rent, you should get in touch with your Housing Officer straight away. As well as checking to see if you are eligible for any benefits, your Housing Officer will make a sensible arrangement with you to pay what you owe over time taking your income into account. Once you make an arrangement it is very important that you keep to it and make regular payments. Please remember it is your responsibility to pay rent when due and to keep your rent account clear.
Although we understand people may experience difficulties in paying rent we will take action against any tenant who does not pay their rent or maintain arrangements to repay rent arrears. Rent arrears may prevent an internal transfer or mutual exchange application and could affect your ability to gain a tenancy with any other landlord.
We will always deal sympathetically with you if you are having financial problems. However, if you do not make or keep to an agreement to pay rent which you owe the Association will, as a last resort, take legal action. This could result in eviction.
If you are on a low income you may be entitled to housing benefit or universal credit to assist you in paying your rent, or might have an entitlement to other benefits to help increase your income. You can contact Andy our Welfare Rights Offier through our office number 0141 944 3860 or call/text 07736892626.
