About Us
Cernach Housing Association is a successful and well performing community-based registered social landlord (RSL) operating in Drumchapel, north west Glasgow since 1991. We own 877 homes and provide a management service to 16 sharing owners and 141 homeowners. We act as community anchor organisation for Drumchapel. Our turnover is £4.6 million, a major part of which comes from rental income. We are passionate about our role as a community-based organisation and have a strong and committed voluntary Management Committee who lead that passion.
About the Role
The Management Committee recently agreed some changes to the staff structure, and we now wish to recruit a highly motivated, committed and experienced individual to join our staff team as our Operations Manager (OM).
The successful candidate will have a degree/relevant professional qualification or ability to demonstrate an appropriate level of transferrable skills/experience. They will have a proven track record of working at a senior or line management level within the RSL sector (or equivalent). In addition to direct experience of working in the housing management and maintenance functions. The OM will report to the Director and be part of Cernach’s senior management team. The OM will lead the Senior Housing Officer and Senior Maintenance Officer, who have day-to-day responsibility for our highly successful Housing Management and Maintenance teams. The role requires strong interpersonal, ICT, project management and performance management skills.
The successful candidate will have
- Direct experience of developing policy and procedures which underpin high-quality services
- A detailed knowledge of the legal, regulatory and best practice requirements of the sector
- Experience of report writing and the ability to communicate effectively with a range of audiences, including public speaking/presentation skills
- The ability to take the initiative in managing diverse workloads; responding effectively to competing priorities; proactively taking ownership of issues and finding solutions to sometimes complex problems.
