35 hours per week, flexible working hours, SHAPS defined contribution pension scheme, 25 days’ annual leave and 15 days’ public holiday per annum
About the role
Due to the forthcoming retirement of the current postholder after 30 years’ service, we are looking to recruit a highly motivated individual to join our staff team as a Finance Officer. Reporting to the Corporate Services and Assurance Manager, the Finance Officer will fulfill a critical back-office support role as a key member of the finance and corporate services team, focusing on day-to-day finance tasks such as:
· payments and invoicing
· assisting with budget planning and management accounts
· preparing for and participating in the annual external audit
· undertaking daily banking tasks
· maintaining up-to-date financial registers/ledgers
· managing factored owners’ invoices/accounts
· managing staff salary, pension and sickness records
· providing operational support to the finance agent and senior management team in relation to financial management
The postholder will also take a key role in corporate health & safety, supporting the Director and Assurance sub-Committee in meeting their responsibilities in this area.
About the successful candidate
The successful candidate should:
· have direct experience of working in a finance-related post, although this does not need to be within the RSL sector
· demonstrate a high level of numeracy
· have strong ICT skills
· have strong interpersonal skills
· be able to work with minimal supervision
· be a team player
The Association has a very positive approach to further education and, to this end, we will encourage the postholder to undertake a recognised professional finance qualification – this will be done in the Association’s time and the Association will cover all course fees.
Flexible working
As a community-based housing association, all staff members are currently based in our office in Drumchapel. However, an agile working project group, comprising staff from across the organisation, is considering flexible working options and is due to report to the Management Committee towards the end of the year. It is likely that we will adopt an alternative working pattern at that point; in the meantime, we operate a standard flexible working policy.
Inclusive employer
Disabled applicants who meet the essential criteria outlined in the person specification will be granted an interview if they opt to participate in the job interview guarantee scheme. The Association is an equal opportunity employer.
